Getting Traffic to Your Website – SEO With Manual Social Bookmarking (PT6)

In this video, I show you a basic search engine optimization technique you should use on ALL new content you publish to the internet – whether it be a YouTube video or your own affiliate site. I also continue along with my Art of Snore case study, and you can see that the site is ALREADY getting organic SEO traffic!

Social bookmarking is still a very valuable back linking method.

I social bookmark my sites on all the major social bookmarks because it does 3 things:

1 – it gets your blog posts, articles, and videos indexed and found by Google
2 – it gets your content social proof – it’s easier to get likes and shares from social media traffic, so it’s a great way to start the snowball. Google does rank your content based on the social clout of your content.
3 – you can get quality, targeted website visitors to your website. A lot of these people will turn into customers and subscribers because of their highly targeted nature.

Question:

Do you social bookmark every page or video on your site?

Answer:

Yes, every single time I create a new piece of content I social bookmark it!

top 10 social bookmarking sites:

1 – pinterest
2 – reddit.com
3 – delicious.com
4 – stumbleupon.com
5 – Google Plus+
6 – Tumblr
7 – digg.com
8 – metafilter.com
9 – folkd.com
10 – fark.com

Off Page SEO Case Study: 110% More Traffic in 14-Days

It’s no secret that publishing great content helps with SEO…but it’s not enough. You also need off page SEO.

Remember: Google and other search engines pay very close attention to ranking factors that take place away from your site, especially the number and quality of your backlinks.

But with updates like Penguin making most link building strategies obsolete (or even dangerous), how can you possibly build links to your site?

The answer: The Skyscraper Technique. It’s a simple, 3-step off page SEO strategy that I’ve successfully used in a dozen different industries.

Here’s how it works. First, you find content in your industry that’s already performed well. You can look at the number of comments, social shares and links. While social shares and comments are important, we’re focused on links. Believe it or not, but some content generates a ton of Tweets and Facebook Likes and few links. You want to zero-in on content that’s acquired white hat links.

Next, it’s time to make the content you found even better. Ideally you want to create something that blows the existing content out of the water. You can improve the design, depth…or just make something more up to date. Just make sure that if you showed your content to 100 people, 95+ would agree that yours is better than the base content from step #1.

The third step of The Skyscraper Technique is link building. This is where you reach out to the people linking to the base content you found in Step #1. Tell them that you also loved the content they’ve already linked to and it’s inspired you to create something even better: Your Skyscraper Content.

That’s all there is to it. If you incorporate this strategy into your off page SEO campaigns you’ll notice a steady uptick of backlinks, social signals and traffic.

Opening your own online store is something we strongly recommend. Amazon and eBay are fantastic platforms as they provide you with buyers and marketing. This means you don’t need to figure out how to drive traffic to your online store because they do it for you. However, they charge you hefty fees for the privilege. This is why we recommend that, in addition to having an Amazon and/or eBay store, that you have your own store too.

For many people though, setting this up can be daunting. While online store solutions like Shopify can make it very easy to set up a store within minutes, after you’ve set it up, you have to figure out how to drive traffic and potential customers to your store.

Luckily, this isn’t as hard as you might think. Here are 3 tips on how to drive traffic to your online store:

Tip #1 to drive traffic to your online store: Use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for search engine/Google traffic

We’ve got some great ecommerce SEO tips for you. First tip: Pick a keyword that accurately describes with you’re selling. This keyword you’ll use to optimize your page. Focus on a descriptive keyword. With search engines, it’s about the QUALITY of traffic, not the quantity.

You can do this manually, or you can use a platform like Shopify to make your ecommerce SEO easy.

Our next ecommerce SEO tip is for you to put this keyword in the meta title tag of your page.

After that, the next step in ecommerce SEO is to place your primary keyword in your page URL.

Another ecommerce SEO tip is to place your primary keyword in your meta description of the page. Try to place it as close to the beginning of the description as possible.

The next thing to do when optimizing for ecommerce SEO is to place your primary keyword in the image alt tags for the different images on your page.

And a BONUS ecommerce SEO tip for you is to make sure your keyword features in your main body content. I’d recommend it make up 1-4% of the main body words on the page. This is a bit of a controversial ecommerce SEO tip so use it cautiously.

Don’t worry, your SEO doesn’t need to be perfect. Just do the best that you can. Every bit helps!

Tip #2 to drive traffic to your online store: Drive traffic using your Amazon & eBay stores

When people think about how to drive traffic to their online store, they often forget they have a great source already with their Amazon and/or eBay stores.

Be careful though. Amazon and eBay have very strict rules about placing external links on their website. They have strict rules too about you diverting customers away from their websites. Amazon and eBay don’t like it when you “steal” customers from them and they outline this in their terms and conditions.

You can still market to these customers though! For Amazon, I’ve had no problems placing a link to my store on my seller profile, but I’d caution you to do this carefully.

Secondly, you can include a packing slip/thank you with your orders. In this packing slip, you can include a link to your online store: Be sure to not ask people to go to this instead though! Keep it subtle. A safe way is to include a link to it in the signature field of your note/letter in conjunction with a link to your Amazon store.

On eBay, they have strict external link rules. I wouldn’t recommend placing a link to your store on your page. But you can include a link in a thank you note/packing slip. Again, keep it subtle. Including a URL address in your signature along with a URL to your eBay store is a good way to do this.

Tip #3 on how to drive traffic to your online store: Use social media

Here is a quick tip. Create profiles for your store on social media platforms like Facebook. Post to other popular pages within your niche/industry and leave comments that will get lots of likes/comments. This will push it to the front of discussions. People will then click on your name, see your store and hopefully click through to your storefront!

How To Steal SEO Traffic From Your Competitors [AMT-01 by Gael Breton]

Want to rank higher than your competitors? Reverse engineer their content, create something better, replicate the links they have and, chances are, you will outrank them! In this tutorial you will learn how to piggyback your competitors’ content marketing efforts, so that to find the best content ideas you should focus a lot of effort on. Let’s get started! – https://blog.ahrefs.com/steal-seo-traffic/

First, you’ll need to build the list of up to 50 competitors. How do you find them?

0:42 Add your site to Dashboard (https://ahrefs.com/dashboard/metrics) at Ahrefs.

0:50 Move to Ahrefs Site Explorer (https://ahrefs.com/site-explorer) and check your Top 10 Competitors report within SE – Overview tab. You may easily check each of them in SE, as well.

Another way to find competitors is to search them in Google.

Your next step is to find out how strong their domains are as compared to you.

3:35 Submit your competitors’ sites for analysis into Ahrefs Batch Analysis tool (https://ahrefs.com/labs/batch-analysis) and check their Domain Rating.

Pick up sites with Domain Rating within 5 of yours (if your rating is 50, for example, that would be sites with DR within 45-55).

5:30 Submit any of them for analysis to Ahrefs Positions Explorer tool (https://ahrefs.com/positions-explorer) which finds all the keywords this site ranks for.

5:58 Check the “Top Pages” report in PE to see the pages on that domain that receive the most traffic and the number of keywords each of them ranks for.

Brainstorm their keywords ideas: maybe it would be interesting for you to create such content?

Perform this for all your competitors and at the result you will come up with a massive list of content ideas and pieces of content your competitors, that have the same level of domain authority as you, are ranking for.

Pick from here a topic you can write about and you have pretty good chance of ranking high… as long as you also do the effort of building the same kind of links to your content.

How to do that? Go back to Site Explorer, put the piece of content picked up from your competitor, look at the links they have and try to replicate those links.
